for doing what? hairy carpets? beautiful virtual girls? toys? You architecture and furniture guys offten forget, that this is not the only usage of 3D. I finished an animation project this year where the main characters were 4 bears. I did it with Octane cause the deadline was tight and guess what.. no fur on bears.. only textue.

Octane Render 1.022 beta2.2 RC3 available [obsolete]
Seem fps and samples vary a lot in latest RC but there is a speed improvement.. and when I turn AA on there is no speed slow down.. Congrats , feels much solid than RC2 and filled with new toys . I'm little confused by new roughness slider though. you can make an endless variety of textures by making complex combinations with what's available.

1) As a stopgap for Particles and Volumetrics, a full featured implementation of OpenEXR 2.0's new Deep Data feature would allow you to more easily comp those passes generated from other sources. If it was a choice between having OpenEXR 2.0 in 6 months or Particles/Volumetrics in 12 months, I would opt for OpenEXR 2.0. 2) Please consider (if technically feasible) adding OpenVBD or Fields3D ...
"Object Layer Color" does not work in the latest 31.3 Beta Release
When I try to get Object Layer Color to work and get out the color I set in the Object context, the Object Layer Color node, although connected in the UI seems to be doing nothing to the rendering. It acts as if there was no node connected. It works in the older version of Blender Octane e.g. OctaneRender™ for Blender 2024.1.2 - 29.20. So this seems to be a bug with the Blender addon version ...

Pretty sure that this is a beginner question, I have been doing some renders to get my stuff looking like toys, but I notice that my materials tend to look "patchy" with octane so I tried tweaking settings, but nothing seems to be working.

Hi Beppe, Is this version available for Macbook Pro M1's yet? I'm currently running PR14 on Cinema R25 on Monterey as that is the latest one, I am hesitant to install OS Ventura & C4D 2023, do you know if will PR14 work with this? Thank you!

And also the C4D file where you can try the steps yourself? Just drag vertex map into vertex map slot in the mix texture within the node editor.
